I had a 73 Mach 1 just after high school.  Man, that thing was fun to
drive.  She had an after market cam that was so high it would barely
idle, a bigger carb, and a 351C under the hood driving a C-6 and a 9
inch positrac.  Wheeee!  The rear tires were too big for the fender
wells, so the ass and was lifted quite a bit.  When you lift the rear
of fastback you effectively lose rear visibility.  All I could see in
the side mirror was the rear fender.  The art of changing lanes
involved either hanging my head out the window, or punching the
throttle and doing it blind.  Handling became, um, interesting at 110
MPH.  6 MPG (9 MPG if I drove at the speed limit) convinced me to sell
her to a Mustang collector.  He told me some time later that the drive
line had been put into another car.  The body had been crushed.
