(re-sending as I used the wrong email account last night and I guess non-subscribed email addresses are not allowed to post. Duh!)
Here in Minneapolis, MN.... the Iridium satellites decided to present themselves as a duo The local newspapers made a big deal about it, but it was tricky to find out exactly where to point the camera to spot TWO of them going from S to N side by side (almost). Luckily, I was able to find out that it would be almost directly between Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. So I perched myself up on the roof of my office building, and got this: http://charles.robinsontwins.org/photos/2007/IMGP5194_iridium_small.jpg or http://charles.robinsontwins.org/photos/2007/IMGP5194_iridium_large.jpg You can see Ursa Minor in its entirety to the left of the streaks... .and the "bowl" of Ursa Major to the right. I've got to work on the post-processing to draw out the details, but you'll probably be able to get the point. (first person to tell me I have DUST on my sensor gets a virtual SMACK across the IntarTubes) -Charles -- Charles Robinson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Minneapolis, MN http://charles.robinsontwins.org -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
