I remember that in 2000, when I was buying this lens, I looked at the comparative review (tests) in Practical Photography (don't mix with Popular Photography). The tests results were different enough to warrant comments comparing the quality of these three. Was it just a sample-to-sample variation, difference in quality control for different brands, or what?
