yep, a complete set, including the big guns, 500, 1000, and the rare 135-600. Plus the cool 15mm gem too. That 135-600 cost me a grand, but its a really good quality lens if you want to actually use it. I should try it on digital just for kicks.
As far as the K's go, I have some expensive and rare ones still to find/buy, like the 15mm, 18mm. 85mm, 50/1.2, 135-600, and both the 500mm and 1000mm. I used to have the smck1000/8 but traded it for the smct1000/8. The thing is the manual aperture lenses like the 500,1000 and 135-600 are better to have in screwmount because you can use them on screwmount or k mount or other mounts, while the K mounts are fixed for use on K bodies only which is a disadvantage. I really like the K series lenses and so far they seem excellent on digital APS too. My very latest aquisition "K" was the K120mm F2.8 (not the doggy poo M version!) and it's freakin smokin' sharp! (should be, its an exact copy of the superb K105/2.8 but scaled up). It took me years to find that sucker! The K series lenses are much rarer than the SMCTs, thats for sure. They are fun to collect and use. I have only really been collecting the "K" series lenses for a couple years, the SMCTs I started gobbling up way back in the 80's when they were really dirt cheap ( still are fairly inexpensive actually ). I remember getting my first SMCT 85/1.8 for $100 at a camera show in late 80's. Those were the days ( right after Pentax went AF) when everybody thought screwmount pentax lenses were going to be completely worthless in a few years.....wrong! I also am collecting the mamiya/sekor SX series lenses too, but they have a big problem in that they cant be used on digital (except wide open) without a minor mod. made to them to allow a manual aperture mode. A M42 DSLR would solve that problem and allow the SMCTs also to be used better thats for sure. jco -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of David Weiss Sent: Monday, February 12, 2007 10:33 PM To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List Subject: Re: Pentax K 28mm f2.0 Lens JCO, You have all of the SMCT? Even the 1000mm and 15mm? That is pretty impressive bunch of lenses. Which is your favorite to use? Which "K" lenses are you missing? I can thank you for getting me to start buying the screwmount stuff. I can also now blame you for the size of my collection! But you were right about the quality and feel of these lenses, even pentax folks who only are into the more recent digital offerings owe themselves to have an smc tak or two. Dave J. C.
