hey, given the recent substantial rise in prices of 
vintage pentax prime lenses, its not even really
that costly a hobby in the long run it seems.

While I do have complete set of SMCT and am
going for all the "K"s, neither of these series
have much zooms, so I just go for all. But your
right, the M and A series have a lot of
zooms, much more than SMCT and K, I wouldnt ever want to pursue or
collect.

I've been collecting the A primes for a couple of years now, with a  
bit of help from several folks who post here; the only ones I'm still  
missing are the A*600/4 and the A*1200/8.  Given their rarity and the  
current inflation of Pentax lens prices it's unlikely I'll ever have  
them...

I also have fairly good collections of the SMCT primes, the FA  
primes, and the K primes, as well as a smattering of the M primes.   
Lens collecting is certainly addictive, but it beats spending too  
much time in bars!
