This was my impression as well. I wondered if maybe my first viewing had been in a bad lighting situation, so I didn't say anything. Almost Tri-X-like in the sharp harsh contrast.... -Charles ============ I am glad you guys said this, because I thought maybe it was just me. And I am not a B&W gal, so I find them hard to evaluate. But these look way too dark to me. Lack of detail and sort of gritty, maybe appealing in a way, but making it really hard to get a sense of depth and scale and texture. I am just talking about the rendering, not the photos, Mark -- I had the same reaction to the tree trunk. :-) OTOH, you may be going for a certain "mood", but that mood I find very depressing.
