Using an A lens is just  like any of the newer lenses - almost.  First,
make sure the aperture  ring is on 'A'.  Second, turn off AF on the
body.  After that it  works just like the AF lenses - of course you
have to focus the lens, but  other than that, all the modes and
everything works the same.

Now I feel really stupid. Oh,  well, been there before. :-)

I think all that talk about inputting the  focal length on the K10D for SR, 
had gotten me confused. Also I thought there  was a green button kludge or 
something. But guess that is for a K  lens.

Thanks everyone. Bascially it functions just as a manual lens  should. Got it.
