I suppose it depends on what you're used to. I've always had K-mount cameras (Pentax and Ricoh) and developed a quick lens release system using the forefinger of the left hand to press the release while twisting the lens with the right hand.
When I recently bought a Minolta 7000 (for history's sake), I found the release on the opposite side of the mount awkward.
