This is true for macros where the perspective and DOF are very 
different.  But for normal shooting there is not that much difference.  The 
digicams do produce much more DOF per f stop than an SLR (due to the small 
size of the CCD) but you can adjust for that.  If you truly had a critical 
shot where the shutter speed and F stop had to be the same on both the 
digicam and the SLR, then your point is correct.
