John, Seems to me that, within the camera settings, the exposure is only slightly beyond available dynamic range. Log, beak and, possibly, a slight hint in the lower wing feathers. Certainly not objectionable, but you may be looking for a more critical response. Did you do a minimal amount of dodging in the upper breast area?
