Gents, I think that the way the interface is designed, it is truly a 
gem. Since I am rather kludge in all things white balance, they ability 
to get an instant feedback (or at least semblance of feedback) when I 
change white balance is very useful. Indeed, making RAW->JPEG conversion 
in the camera is rather tricky, 'cause the built in monitor is not that 
precise. However, for AWB and for B/W it more or less works.

Well, may be K1D will have better display or it will be possible to 
change its color temperature somehow.

Anyway, I've found that AWB is both more consistent than that of *istD 
and thus more useful.
