Yes, the price was a bit high. But the problems he mentioned were routine service things that I would have done anyway. In the condition it actually was it was worth maybe $20 for parts. BTW, you did notice that it is a battery operated Hi-Fi stereo recorder? This was about the first affordable one ($500) that was made. Later there were several, but the Marantz (later version of mine) and Sony were the only ones that were common. I live in a tourist/university town, that means almost anything that is old here is in an overpriced antique store, or torn up by the students who got hold of it first. Of course one still can run into bargains now and then. My Technics turntable was free, the cassette deck, also Technics, in my stack cost me $5.
That leaves eBay when you want something in particular. The problem comes when you can not trust the seller's description. Unfortunately I am finding that to be more and more the case. -graywolf Markus Maurer wrote: > Hi Graywolf > I looked it up on Ebay and it is a lovely piece from a famous brand . > The price seems a little bit on the high side for a non flawless item for me > nut that is true for a lot of international autction sales. > Don't you have flea markets and second hand stores where you live where you > getter even better deals? > > I got a nearly unused Philips HiFi Recorder N2521 for $10 last year in > perfect condition:-) > http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/philips_hifi_cassettendeck_n2521.html > > greetings > Markus > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > graywolf > Sent: Sunday, February 18, 2007 3:22 AM > To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List > Subject: Re: OT. mikes and Mac's > > > Ah ha!
