Ann,

Cotty's modified a K 15mm f3.5 and the A* 85/1.4 for use on his 1DmkII. 
You can do it a little easier as there are K mount adaptors available 
for EF-S mount cameras like your Digital Rebel that don't require 
hacking the lens (Lens mods are required to clear the mirror on non-EF-S 
bodies like the 1D and my 10D).

You can find the adaptors on eBay (Check the seller happypageshk) or 
from Cameraquest.com for too much money. The Happypageshk adaptors are 
around $90, but include the focus confirmation chip, while the 
cameraquest adaptors cost twice as much, are better built, but do nt 
offer focus confirmation.
