Yeah, I can definitely see digital take over the colour market. Once the
resolution increases to at least 3 megapixels in low-end, cheap
digital cameras and the availability of rapid lab printing increases,
digital will probably take over the market. I think film will still have
a niche in medium and large format cameras, as well as the
low-to-mid-range SLR's. I can see a lot of amateur hobbiests who can't
afford MedF staying with film for as long as possible. A friend of mine
from work is so impressed from the shots he's getting with his 3MP digital
that he's considering getting a 4 or 5 MP camera for his snapshots and
some of his paying photography and then moving to MedF for his good stuff.
