It might not be that small a niche if it were designed correctly it could be build to cater to a number of "classic" lenses. A simple change of the front module and you have a "Classic" FD lens mount DSLR, Classic OM, Classic K, Classic MD, etc. as well as the Classic M42 DSLR. When you consider all of the orphan lens systems, most of them with quite good optics, you have quite a potential market.
