I was never offered either. However, through years of building a relationship with local vendors, nearly all of them will loan me a camera, lens or tripod for an afternoon or a day if I ask to evaluate it, or at very least allow me to 'buy on spec' and return an item if I'm not satisfied with it. > My local dealer outdid the best internet price by £34, well happy 8) One of the local shops will match B&H prices for me, and the other does the best they can afford to. I work with them whenever I can. But they acknowledge when it would be stupid for me to buy through them. > Yes and no, scientific tests, measuring resolution, CA, distortion > etc. on > modern digital cameras do offer a good insight to expected > performance.
