I dont understand, how does any camera only have
focus issues with certain lenses? Is it really
having focus issues with all lenses but DOF is
masking them?

Hi Jens,

Perhaps you already found this out yourself, but that first link you
gave DOES have the right procedure to get the *istD into its
service-menu, and the in debug-mode.

I tried it, easy to get in, a bit harder to get out, probably due to
slightly different timing in debug mode :-)

Just like with the K10D, once in debug-mode, there are three extra menu
items in the regular 'set-up' menu that you will see if you go to the
menu and press the 'up' arrow.

However, unfortunately, there is NO AF-SHIFT selection
amongst those extra items, just test stuff I think.

So I am afraid that for the *istD the only way of adjusting
the focus is the mechanical way, using the three screws
under the base-plate of the camera ...

I will not do that though, it has minor back focus issues
with the FA 85 and FA 50 but I can live with that.

Regards, JvW
