Well, I have about decided upon the following proceedure: Starting with a ProphotoRGB, 16bit, 10x7.5 inch image Resample, Bi-cubic Sharper, 72ppi or 100bpi Convert to sRGB Convert to 8 bit Save for web
That should keep the quality as high as reasonably possible. Now to see if I can work up a script to do that automatically. I had been intending to work on that when ever I got a hold of one of those round tuit things anyway <grin>. Just need to add a couple of steps. It really seems to be the conversion from 16 bit Prophoto that was the problem. I did not have it when using 16 bit Adobe98, so there must be some kind of glitch in Adobe's SFW script. Maybe the simplest thing would be going back to Adobe98. Now anyone want to tell me why Thunderbird will not let me paste in stuff except as a quote? That started a few upgrades back. Whatever happened to software that worked the way you expected it to? Don't remind me, it never existed and probably never well. -graywolf David Mann wrote: > > I would definitely advise against saving a jpg from a Pro Photo file > without converting to sRGB first. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
