We don't know what Pentax had planned, or what may have changed. We do know they are having a very hard time keeping up with demand. The K10 is a breakout best seller and there is a shortage of every used lens that will work with it, because new lenses are hard to find. That demand seems to even extend to many that are not optimal. Pentax seems to be concentrating on getting out the most profitable lenses to try to meet demand, while still keeping some of the promises on the road map.
