Christian, this was an attempt on associative compliment if such a thing exists. I also seem to have made a misprint. It is "The Songs of Distant Earth" (give or take another "the").
You can look up the book or you can look up an album by Mike Oldfield that has the same name. This album is one of my all time favorites.
