I've been very pleased with mine, especially paired up with the 16-45/4,
on both the *ist D and the K10D.  I shoot it more at the long end than
the short, and I haven't noticed any particular softness.  But I don't
typically go searching for stuff like that, either.  If there, it surely
hasn't been enough to rise to the level of noticeable in normal
processing of the photos.

Yep, I'd really like the 60-200 (?) SDM/HSM/SSM/whatever that's coming
leter in the year.  I'm not sure I'm going to be able to swing the cost,
though.
