Just for info - this was one of 2000 images shot in the park over a 10 day period. We'd leave camp before daylight & normally return just after sunset. I've been to the Park 5 times over the years & either never had the opportunities or the equipment to capture the images that were captured during this trip. I can't say how close I was to the bear but I know we always observed the Park's rules which IIRC allow no less than 50 yards or 100 yards with cub. The image posted is a slight crop from the original. This particular shot was the result of around a half hour of shooting, waiting for an interesting pose or activity. Not really sure as to the sex of this particular animal. The bear was aware of my presence but took no aggressive action toward us. The shot was actually taken from inside a small school bus.
