Every-time I've had a shutter go bad, it went bad. It wouldn't work at all. So my guess is there's something amiss between your shutter button and shutter.
As to the worth of getting it fixed that depends on how much you like the camera. If it's just a matter of a loose wire somewhere, I doubt it'd be much to fix.
