Yeah, compared to the blizzards we had when I was a kid, this one was
pretty mild.

I think the biggest problem was the timing.  It hit very hard just
about 5 a.m. so the plows couldn't get to the streets before the
morning rush hour.  Couple that with the 50 mph winds and they
couldn't keep them open.

Local news reported the state patrol closed highways this morning due
to 8 to 10 foot drifts.  Nothing in the city was anything near that
bad.

High winds have continued today.  They've plowed the main roads and
may make it into the neighborhoods tomorrow.  Just to add a little
spice, the weather guys are predicting another couple of inches of
snow tonight.

The older buildings are in downtown Omaha, NE.  A few others are in
the surrounding suburbs.
