Yes, American car commercials are frequently shot in New Zealand. You 
have very good crews and excellent locations. Plus, you have summer 
when we have winter. I shot two Dodge commercials in Ashburton back in 
2001. We actually built the road that you see in the commercial. We 
brought an American director and DP, but used a crew from New Zealand. 
Had a great time. Wonderful people, fabulous country.
