He wasn't really kicked out, he bailed out. Mainly because he was treated badly. The organisation he went with both sucks and blows. They recruit host families by paying them money. Nothing wrong about that, but if the families are paid too low, they don't provide the service needed.
But me and my SO still wants to go. It is on hold, because we are getting a new dog soon. The SO wants to go to Oxford.
