Around here they are also plentiful. I've never managed to hit one yet, but I have come darned close. I came onto the scene of a deer strike on what passes for an expressway where I live. Poor thing wasn't dead, and was curled up in the middle of the road. Bunch of stopped cars, lots of people. I stayed with it and stroked it until it found it's feet again and got off the road.
