In 3 weeks (all going well) I will have a car anyway. It will help me carry my Pentax gear around - see it is on-topic. It will be manual, automatics are for sissies :)
That is if our national airline doesn't go bust in the meantime, I must leave town to get it and I've paid for my tickets. And I'll make sure I don't take my knitting needles or swiss army knife on-board, and carry any film in my pockets. My dad is a mechanic and insists on checking the car over first. Also in this "city" they will rip you off, and most likely the car is stolen or rusted through.
