I bought my R2400 in October of 2005. It has often sat for several weeks unused, while I was traveling or otherwise not printing... I have not yet experienced any kind of clogging with it.
I'm sure that environmental humidity, temperature and other factors all play a part in the propensity of a printer to clog when sitting.
