Why so do you think that? SD cards are smaller, lighter ... therefore  
less mass to cause a fracture ... and less likely to have their  
contacts jammed full of grit. It would likely have survived just as  
well as the CF card did. If the lock switch broke off, well, that  
would save the data from being overwritten.
