I'm so tired of being environmentally and politically correct. I recycle, use environmentally correct materials, conserve as much as I can, eat organic foods, buy locally produced produce, support local small businesses, and so on. Last week there was a small bag in my car (made from recycled paper, printed with soy ink, and which contained no trans-fat, baked not fried organic potato chips) that was destined for the recycling center. A friend got in the car and made some comment about the bag. I just got fed up with all this environmental crap, and tossed the bag out the window and watched the breeze carry it into the bay. It felt so good! Next week I'm planning to toss some aluminum cans out the window into the roadway. Some homeless person will pick them up and recycle 'em, getting a small amount of money for it and the other cans and bottles s/he's accumulated. I will have then contributed to his economic well being as well as getting the cans recycled. IMO, a much more sensible solution than having to worry about what to do with the can.
