I had a bad asbestos exposure when I was a teenager. In addition to my other duties, I ground brake shoes to fit the drum diameter in a speed shop/auto parts store some forty years ago. I never wore a mask or anything. I know what asbestos tastes like. I took deep breaths of it. It's kind of sweet and not at all unpleasant on the palette. Sometimes I drew in so much that it made me cough. Thought nothing of it at the time. I get chest X-rays once a year and so far nothing has come up.
