The windmill (for corn) in my village dates from 1718 and is in a poor
state although restored in 1988. It is no longer in operation. It stands
in a funny place in the middle of the road going into the village, so
you have to drive around it. Not a place to take a nap as you did..
There are over 1000 windmills in Holland, of course each with plenty of
history.  History records indicate that the first mill in my village was
built in 1318.
