Replyorama:

Thanks Dave, the beagles were fun, and while mostly littermates (dad is the
one on the back/right hand side)all were very different dogs.

Thanks Christian, the entire litter championed out in 2 weekends. Fine
looking beagles indeed.

Thanks Marnie, sorry for misspelling "gray", I'm pretty sure it's fixed now.
I promise it won't happen again......

Thanks Shel, ditto about the background tag.

Cotty, thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it.

Boris, I hadn't thought classical portrait when I set it up, but it does
have a faintly Victorian look to it.
Or Thomas Kinkaid, I'm not sure which.....
Thanks for looking.

Peter, no cream cheese and lox, but we did get some dog poop and pee later
on.

Christian, I'm not much for the little ones myself, they remind me too much
of play toys rather than dogs. Necklaces and the like merely confirm it for
me.
Having said that, some of the toughest dogs I have met have been Shih Tzus
and Chihuahuas.

Brendan, trap focus.....

Bruce, thanks for looking. I really like the 200 macro, and for this dog, it
gave me enough working distance that the animal was able to relax a bit.

Cotty, I didn't realize you had married outside your race....

Cory, thanks for looking. We were travelling in Utah with a smallish (25
pound) dog one time. A local told us to make sure the dog was leashed and
"guarded" all the tme for that very reason. I've seen crows try to take
ground squirrels, and I don't think this dog is much bigger than one of
them.

Jan, thanks for looking, the macro is a nice portrait lens if the subject is
small enough.

Thanks to everyone who looked and/or commented.
