In reality you can not tell much about what a person knows by how long
he has been doing it. Some people learn as little as they need to get
by, and nothing more. Others delve deeply into things and learn as much
as they can. The first may have 40 years of experience and know very
little, the second may only have been in the field a couple of years,
but know quite a lot. Of course the opposite is also possible. But, when
someone says you can not tell me nothing I have been doing this for
x'teen years my BS detector goes off very loudly.
