Sounds like my ex-wife. When we were married she was a really good pet
owner. Good about training and controlling her white German shepherd
and looking down on people who didn't care for their pets to her high
standards. After we split up, she abandoned all reason and just started
trying to please our daughter.

"No" left her vocabulary, while more cats and several rodents entered
her house. Most of the rodents died and were replaced in a disposable
pet cycle. Then her dog died (cancer, very sad) and she got another
dog, this one a stray from the Bahamas because our daughter "fell in
love with it" while on vacation. She got bored with that poor dog, and
got a Yorkshire terrier.

The Bahamian dog proceeded to kill the yorkie after a few months or so
(the ex was on a business trip and I was taking care of our daughter;
nice way to come home and find a dead dog in the living room).

So now the Bahamian dog has bitten several people and has a record with
animal control. The ex did the only sensible thing she could do and had
the dog destroyed (it was a huge liability; if she let brought it to a
public area and it bit someone or another dog, they'd be in serious
legal trouble. She's lucky the last person it bit didn't press charges
or sue in civil court).

My daughter is devastated so now the stupid ex gets her ANOTHER frigging
dog. And this one is a Golden Retriever of all the stupid breeds to get
("because they are not aggressive" is her reasoning). Yeah my ex has
lost her mind. The saga continues and I get to deal with the fallout.
Of course I'm the bad guy because I don't approve of any of this. But
no matter what I do, I can't show neglect of care for our daughter so no
court in this country would award physical custody to me...
