When we moved out of the city 25 years ago my wife
did not want to drive her Honda Civic in the winter
(lots of snow and ice up here)so i bought her a used
1973 Chrysler Newport Custom.400, 4 barrel land yacht.
I always said the gas guage worked as a reverse tach.in that
step on the gas and watch it dive.
Great car, kept here alive in a 4 car crash days before our
wedding.

But compared to some of the other Mopar products it was economical.
My 73
Dodge Charger, 400 big block V8 with dual 4's, headers, etc got about
10 mpg
at 55mph, 7mpg at 80 and about 4mpg topped out. Now that's a gas
guzzler!
Sold it to a friend who rolled end over end about 3 times and still
walked
away.
