Sometimes just the opposite happens, at least for me it has.  I've been out
shooting with a Pentax and someone approaches me with positive comments on
the gear.  Some time ago I was using the LX in Berkeley and a small group
of Japanese tourists saw me.  A couple of them gave me some very strong
signs of approval, one even bowed slightly.

I've never been heckled, but if I had been it would have been an honor, for
it shows just how insecure the hecklers are.  A real pro would never do
such a thing.  Knowledgeable people understand the quality of Pentax glass,
appreciate the smaller size of the cameras, and recognize that Pentax, just
like any other brand, has some good and valuable features.  And wouldn't
some of those jamokes be surprised to learn that some of their precious
lenses were designed by Pentax (or so I've been told).
