LOL I wouldn't be particularly enamored of that either. ;-) So stick an initialization routine in your startup to kill it immediately afterwards. There's always a solution ... it's a computer, not a thing with a mind of its own. On the other hand, I like having QuickTime around to view the oddball things that people sometimes mail me and it doesn't get in the way on Mac OS X at all.
