Lossless compression of the PEF data was added pretty late in the K10D development process, from what I understand, and the firmware that estimates number of exposures per available space was not updated to reflect the differences. Yesterday's little jaunt came home with 154 exposures on a 2g card, the camera was estimating space for about 16 more exposures when i stopped shooting. If I had the camera set to RAW/DNG, the last 20 or so exposures would have been on a second card.
