I try hard to take care of my negatives, particularly the submini ones. Remember this is Minox format, an 8x11 mm negative. A small dust spot is a boulder by the time you make a 6x8" print. No editing, adjustment, or whatever were done after the scanning process. Can't use the LS40's IR scratch and dust removal with traditional B&W film either. Only processing was the resampling for the web and a nip up with USM. The full size rendering is untouched other than the overlay for my watermark. > I got more dust on mine (even fresh from the labs sometimes) and > the fix up > was quite a lot of boring work in Photoshop due to the missing ICE > in the > Minolta Dual scan II. Preparing, scanning finishing one negative can take as much time as rendering a hundred digital capture exposures.
