Indeed. I was very sorry to hear that. I love his books. Even his less
well-known ones are full of gems. "Galapagos" was about an event which
killed all humans except for a small group of people who happened to
be on a tourist trip to the Galapagos. It traces their descendants
over a period of 2 million years as they evolve into seal-like
creatures whose only remaining resemblance to humans is that they
laugh whenever one of the others farts.
