Paul,

Pentax made a couple different microscope adapters.  Not sure if either are 
still available.  Check the lens section at http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/ for 
more info.

The Pentax Universal T-ring adapter you mentioned is for cameras with M42 
threads.  i.e. Spotmatic.  You can use this with your K100D but you'll need a 
M42 to K adapter.  These are still available new.  If you go that route, get a 
genuine Pentax adapter.  If I were you I'd consider the Pentax K T-ring adapter 
listed on that same page.  It's just below the universal and has the same price 
tag.  That's one less adapter you'll need to use.
