After the ice fell three stories from the roof of our home and totaled our car,
we were left with some disposable cash. We decided to get something old and
cheap to replace it, since it hardly rolled out of the driveway after I quit
working. This left us with some decisions. Save the money, invest the money,
pay off that credit card once and for all, put it in the kids' college funds?
Heck no! Responsibility took a backseat and I dove headfirst into enablement
fun, all the while doing several things I swore I wouldn't do. It's amazing
what a bit of cash will do to personal resolutions.

First it was the K10D. Not only did I "go digital", I bought a camera with a
Sony sensor. (I know, straight to hell for me.) Most recently I violated my
personal morals in several ways. I bought a laptop. I've told myself, and
quite a few others, that I would never, ever buy another Compaq, that XP was
the end of the Windows line for me, and that Best Buy would never get another
dime. The Compaq was on sale at Best Buy. It came with Vista. I'm sure at
least one of the 666 layers is reserved for people like me.

Anyway, just wanted to let Ann know that I'll have a decent laptop at GFM if
she needs it.
