Not only do DVDs come in different video formats, even
ones that are same format may not play
in your country as DVDs have a region coding
system.

If you live in USA and have a typical USA bought
DVD player, look only for DVDs listed as "region 1"
coded or those coded for entire world ( no region restrictrions ).

I am surprised it took you this long to learn this,
this month is the 10 year anniversary of DVD
in USA and this region coding system was there from day 1.

Subject: OT - for those of you who have DVD equip that can play PAL
systemDVD's

I got stung on ebay buyign a DVD for a friend - having no idea there was

more than one kind
that plays on DVD's for TV's as opposed to computers.

Only paid $9.00 US for the DVD and the shipping -- it came for Shanghai

VIVA ZAPATA is the film -- anyone of you guys overseas want it?

Write me off list -- I can't get money back he did say it only played
elsewhere
but it was below the cast list and I didn't think there was anything on
the next screen...

I wrote him a long letter saying even when someone didn't carefully read

the description I take
the items back... Of course, the shipping was 3 times the item cost....

I did all the things I admonish ebay bidders not to do - sigh...

It is out of print here, my friend ultimately found it in the library on

tape...

anyone love this movie and have the proper machine to play it on?
