I thought this might be interesting to some of us. The other day I stopped by Biggs Camera here in Charlotte. Steve Biggs, the owner, has set up a digital portrait studio in the store. I asked for a tour which he graciously provided.
He is using a Canon (said off topic, didn't I) D30 w a 28-104 zoom. Shoot a few shots then show them to the client on the monitor. The samples he showed me from a just complete shoot were of a lady who didn't like the way her hair looked. She fixed her hair, and he reshot it. She choose one of those. He printed it out, made a floppy of the image (she wanted to use it on a website). She paid and went away happy. Total time less than 1/2 hour. With film she would have had to wait to see the proofs. Then made an appointment for a reshoot. Waited again to see the proofs, maybe with something else wrong. Waited to get the print, and a scan of the neg. Waste of Steve's time, waste of her time, far lower customer satisfaction, and less profit. Makes one rethink digital, it surely does. --graywolf ------------------------- TERRIFY TERRORISTS ------------------------ - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
