I am almost certain that it's the lens, I have tried it on a bunch of
subjects under many different lighting conditions
and it always looks real odd when focussing and none of my
other lenses do anything like this, so I would
say in this case its just a bad bokeh type lens.
I am going to do some further tests changing
aperture used to find the point where the bokeh
becomes accepatable. Good thing is you cant
forget when focussing it.

Yep, it's bad. But I've found that bright colors frequenly result in bad
bokey. So too, background elements that are too close to be rendered
creamy. I believe the quality of bokeh is 95% subject matter and only 5%
lens. So I'd have to see a lot of pics from this lens to judge. I once
owned it, and I don't recall feeling bad about the results, but it was a
long time ago, and I can't point to any specific results right now. Paul
