I am almost certain that it's the lens, I have tried it on a bunch of subjects under many different lighting conditions and it always looks real odd when focussing and none of my other lenses do anything like this, so I would say in this case its just a bad bokeh type lens. I am going to do some further tests changing aperture used to find the point where the bokeh becomes accepatable. Good thing is you cant forget when focussing it. jco
