Lightroom's grading and sorting tools are great for this. I import all new work as quickly as possible, mark the Picks I'm interested in as well as the Rejects that look like junkers. A day later I review the Rejects and delete them if they are not promoted. Tip: Keyword *everything* on import. This becomes more and more important as your library grows.
