I like it. Quite a bit. For me, though, it is a  tad toooo high key and I 
would bring it down a bit. Too much detail is being  lost, a little more detail 
would be good. 

(I took a second look to be  clearer.) I think the branches of the tree are 
merging with the background a  little too much. I think, if it was me, knowing 
how I fool with things, I might  actually go in and add some thin black lines 
on some of the branches to separate  them from the background. Or I'd try it a 
tad lower high key.

I took this shot right at the edge of  the continent looking out into
the Pacific ocean.  I was trying to  convey the emptiness that I saw
from this withered old tree and the big ocean  beyond.  As I was
playing around, I created this and rather liked  it.  So before showing
the original photo, I thought I would see what  you thought of this.
Rather arty - big departure for me.
