Paul,

A, F, and FA series lenses, taken off the "A" aperture setting,  
operate identically with respect to the metering system compared to  
an M/K-bayonet lens that does not have an A setting. Try it.

I did my original testing when I heard of this issue with both the  
Zenitar-K 16mm and FA28/2.8 lenses, with identical results.
